Welcome to the 6th Computer Giveaway and good luck in the contest. First the Rules and Restrictions.
First you must be a dependent of a U.S. military I.D. Card holder or a I.D. Card holder your self. Second, you must be willing to pick up the computer in the Kaiserslautern area, most likely being my home address which I will give to the winner. Third, you must be between the age of 5 and 15 years old. This time, the contest is for the kids. If you are not in that age group, don't worry as I suspect there will be more contests and more computers to win in the future.
To win the computer, a child between the age of 5 and 15 with parental supervision, must post a new topic here http://www.kmctechguy.com/forum/6th-computer-giveaway-contest.html on why they think they should win or need the computer. All threads posted before midnight on Saturday, 5 February 2011 will be eligible. Sometime Sunday, 6 February my kids will look over the posts and pick the 3 they think are the best deserving. Because of the age difference on this contest, my wife and I will try to make sure they kids understand that some posts may not be written as well as others. We will try our best to make sure all posts are given equal chance regardless of age. Once my kids have chosen the top 3, I will post a poll on this site and the community will be allowed to vote for their favorite. The poll will run for one week, and will end at 5pm, Saturday 12 February. The winner will be announced shortly after that time.
Now, what you will be winning is a Apple Power Mac G5 desktop computer running Leopard :cheer: . It's not upgradeable to snow leopard but it's still a great desktop machine. You can read more about the specs here http://support.apple.com/kb/sp96. I do not have a monitor to giveaway at this moment :( , but that could change by the time the contest is over. I do have a Apple mouse for it, but not the keyboard. I will throw in a standard USB keyboard to go with it if you need one. Any USB keyboard and mouse will work with this system if you have something else in mind when you win it.
Now lastly I want to thank the community for making this possible and specially the donor of this system, Donald Sears. Donald is a member of this site, and a fellow computer specialist. He has helped a few times with donated parts and now has provided this system. Donald is also able to do fix computer systems if I am too busy. He has informed me, that like myself he does the computer repairs for free and accepts donations only. He is very much into gaming systems so if you are looking for an extreme machine, let me know and I will get you in contact with him or you can contact him directly on this site. Thanks again Donald, and good luck to everyone.
Now if you don't win :( , please keep a look out as I'm sure to be doing this again. This is the 6th system I will be giving away. I have given away 3 on this site and 2 on my Facebook fanpage at http://www.facebook.com/kmctechguy. Keep an eye out on the fanpage as well as it is very possible that I will do the next giveaway there.
I think that's enough so I will quit talking and wait to start reading your posts ;)
