Since this is the dummy group, I thought I should post what I have learned recently in order to not become such a computer dummy. I just finished a Cisco ICND I and II course. This is the prep course for the Cisco CCNA certification exam. For those of you that don't know, Cisco is a manufacturer of Routers and Switches, and make about 80% or more of the network equipment currently being used on the Internet. These devices make sure your computers can talk to one another over the Internet. I like to think of routers and switches like Post offices that route your mail. Anyway, it was an excellent 2 week class, and helped me reinforce what I knew and taught me a few new things as there were some changes since the last time I took the class back in 1999. Now I just need to go recertify for my CCNA.

I guess all my members are smarter than I am as no one as joined this group yet. We'll, I am still a dummy as I am still learning my way around. Right when you think you know enough, everything changes and new things come out. For the last few months, I ahve been slowly learning about Windows 7. I am currently running the free RC1 version, but will be buying the full version soon. Microsoft will realease Win7 on October 22nd. I'll probably be buying the family pack which allows me to install it onto 3 computers for a discount. I do have to say that it is the easiest and nicest Windows ever.
